Bridge

A special bridge

This is a very special place.

I know, it's a bridge. And bridges aren't supposed to have anything in common with jewels and forests. Or maybe yes.

Luxembourg City is marked by three magnificent bridges, including this one, known as The Gateway. The view from here is magnificent and extends over the valley of the Petrusse River.

I love bridges, I find them fascinating, technically beautiful and extremely useful. They connect places and mark landscapes in a unique way: they help connect people and communities separated by a river, valley or other practical barrier. For me, bridges represent an incredible metaphor for hope, and that feeling is no different than the feeling I get for our jewelry. A bridge between the symbolic gift of a tree and a precious object that can be worn every day.

But back to this particular bridge. I was walking here and chatting with Emanuela a little over a year ago. The weather was colder, morale was really low after a difficult period. And the bridge did its “thing”. Connect, show opportunities from a different point of view, give hope and energy for a new idea.

It is here that Il bosco di Egam was born.
